It was too late to cancel my co-op farm shift to spend Wed. morning preparing for our contractor visit. Instead, Jen signed up to work with me at the last minute, and we got Aunt Sue-sue to come play with him at the farm. Most of his thrills there were related to trucks and other machines, but there were some moments of interaction with nature. ( Read more... )

Had a lovely morning. Woke at about 5:30, was out in the front yard with the Sparkle by 6:30 doing a little weeding and a little wandering. Had breakfast and didn't feel awful. Baby boy had a nice morning nap. We went to the farmers' market at our usual late hour and brought home armloads of glorious green vegetables.

I was all impatient because we hadn't planted beans yet. But the first few I planted have come popping out of the ground very quickly. Very gratifying. Now I just need to uproot The Arugula That Ate the Square Foot Garden (it is taking up four squares!) and move the peppers I planted in the wrong bed and I can plant more beans.
